About me
I qualified as a dentist from the University of Liverpool in 2012 and completed my foundation year in South Staffordshire. From 2013 to 2018 I worked as an associate in West Yorkshire, refining my clinical skills, building long-term relationships with patients, and providing consistent follow-up care. Between 2018 and 2020 I worked as a locum across multiple practices, treating a wide range of patients and needs. Since 2020 I have continued selective clinical sessions to keep my hands-on skills current while leading Emerdency.
Why I founded Emerdency
I am particularly passionate about emergency dentistry. Dental pain can be debilitating and the ability to take someone from tears to pain-free in a single visit is incredibly rewarding. I co-founded Emerdency with my wife in 2017 after seeing how hard it was for people without an NHS dentist to get urgent help. Many were told to call NHS 111 and wait, while private practices understandably prioritised their regular patients. Unclear fees also left people unsure what treatment might cost.
We set out to remove those barriers by creating a simple way to book at any time with clear and transparent fees for the most common emergency treatments. We piloted the service in 2018, relaunched in 2020, and have grown steadily since through recommendations from colleagues and practices. Learn more about the company on the About Emerdency page.
What I do today
Today I lead the development and growth of Emerdency. I work closely with partner practices, our marketing partners, and our developers to improve how patients find and access urgent dental care. My focus is strategy, innovation, and patient experience. I analyse data to refine the booking journey, and build partnerships that share our patient first values. Staying active clinically keeps me close to daily realities for patients and dentists, and that insight guides our decisions.
Approach to care
My approach to care and business is based on empathy, transparency, and accessibility. Quality dental care should be available when people need it most, without unnecessary barriers or unexpected costs. I am proud that Emerdency has helped tens of thousands of patients across the United Kingdom find same-day emergency care when it mattered most, while supporting local practices at the same time.
